She is very popular at nursery and loves to play with all her friends. She is very friendly and open to new ideas and experiences. She loves to learn, loves nursery, can’t wait till school next year.

Louloubug is very loud and loves to play but doesn’t really have a lot of friends. She is learning to develop her social skills to help her later on in life. She is the youngest in the class at the bug patch nursery and will turn 4 very soon.

Mrs Millipede is the bug patch nursery teacher, she loves teaching nursery and hopes that all her students go on to do really well in school.

Characterisation

Beckybee was my character from the begging I looked at what we had written about her to see how her voice should sound. She was supposed to be out going but still very quiet. I chose to make her voice reflect this. Her voice is quiet although she is out going and has lots of friends.

Beckybee does not really reflect my personality in some ways, I’m not really a quiet person and can sometimes be quite loud which is something that me and Beckybee do not have in common. Her character is very upbeat which is something that I believe I am so she does reflect me in this way. She has a lot of friend which apparently I do to so this is something else that myself and her have in common.

I think to understand beckybee better we have to understand a little bit more about Bumble bees and how the operate. We chose to make Beckybee a bumble bee because we thought that this suited her character best. She needed to be friendly and approachable and I think if she was another type of bee she wouldn’t be approachable to children.

Bumble bees are slower moving then the honey bee cousins, this suited Beckybees character because she is slow and gentle instead of rushing around everywhere like her cousins the Honey bee does.  Becky bee is one of 9 brothers and sisters. Queen Bumble bees only lay between 8-12 eggs each year in the spring. Only female bumble bees have stings and therefore Beckybee does have a sting but if she uses it she will die.

Unlike honey bees, Bumbles bees only make a few grams of honey at a time, they only make enough to feed there children. I think that this means that Beckybee would be from a very strong family. Female worker bees can fly in all weather which means that Beckybee would be able to do alot of things in all weather and would not disappear during the winter months.

I think that looking at bumble bees has helped me to understand better about who beckybee is and what she should be like. the website address below is where I got my research from on Bumble bees.
